Principle of operation: A fluorescent light attracts insects that pass near the metal grid. They become the cause of obtaining a voltaic arc, which kills them on the spot. The arc is of low power and is not lethal to people and pets. These insect repellent lamps use standard fluorescent lamps that have a life of about 3000 hours.
